San Nin Rickshaw 2010

Treasure Hill Artist Village Public Art 2010
2010 Nov 20 – 2011 Jan 9

I produced a Jinrikisha powered by 2 passengers and me as Shafu (a driver of Jinrikisha) working together.
Jinrikisha was one of the familiar transportations when Taiwan was governed by Japan.
But it’s not familiar with everyone – the record says Taiwanese people never rode as passengers.
While Japanese people never become drivers.
On my Jinrikisha, 2 pairs of pedals are installed with the passenger’s seat so as to pedal like a bicycle.
During the exhibition, I acted as a driver and arranged tours around THAV area.
The passengers achieved collaborative artwork with me by pedaling during the tour.
